Zendeko is a traditional Japanese Taiko group native to downtown Los Angeles.  Formed in 1986, this drumming group is based at Zenshuji Soto Mission, a Buddhist temple located in Little Tokyo.

Zendeko has performed for prominent events, motion pictures, dignitaries and festivals across the country and internationally.  Highlights include the Emperor and Empress of Japan, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, President George Bush, Sr., “The Tonight Show” on NBC alongside Korn, “Charlie’s Angels” the movie, “Pearl Harbor” trailer, “Narc” movie score, 1994 World Cup Soccer and The Los Angeles Marathon.

Zendeko strives to share Japanese culture, heritage and traditions through the thunderous music of Taiko with audiences around the world.
