04.2007
MTV2 aired the Boost Mobile RockCorps concert held recently at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA on March 31, 2007. Zendeko began Korn's set with a cut-down rendition of a song from their repertoir. This was a lead-in to Korn's "Throw Me Away," where Zendeko continued playing alongside the chart-topping recording artists. This concert was held exclusively for 3,000 youth volunteers and featured today's hottest hip-hop & rock artists including The Game, +44, Rise Against and Young Jeezy. Legendary rock band Korn performs on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC to promote their newly released MTV Unplugged album.  Zendeko was honored to play alongside Jonathan, Munky, Fieldy and an orchestra of strings and horns to add some acoustic and eclectic touches to the song “Throw Me Away.”

Zendeko collaborates with the amazing Bulgarian-born singer Krassimir's Los Angeles production of his album Popera at the Kodak Theatre, performing his single “Say Goodbye.”

At the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Sacramento Kings game, Zendeko performed during halftime at the Staples Center for the first annual Japanese American Community Night to welcome player Yuta Tabuse.

Zendeko participated in a joint workshop for the KASA North America Workshop Tour.

In KCRW’s award-winning commercial “Balance”, Zendeko is featured within the intricate choreography of multi-cultural artists and special effects.

02.2002
Zendeko recorded in-studio for the climax of the film “Narc” starring Jason Patric, Ray Liotta and Busta Rhymes.

08.2001
In celebration of Zendeko’s 15th Anniversary, the group was featured as a guest artist in Summer Series 2001 at the San Jose Repertory Theater in Northern California, and was honored by the 61st Annual Nisei Week Japanese Festival with a Community Service Award.  Zendeko also hosted a performance on the Japanese American National Museum’s Children’s Courtyard.  Special guest artist included Aska Gumi, a professional group from Japan.

08.2000
The group traveled to Japan to perform at the prestigious “Extasia” festival.

Shortly thereafter, Zendeko recorded in-studio and performed on-camera alongside Bill Murray and Tim Curry for the film “Charlie’s Angels” starring Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore.

At the Japan America Theater in Little Tokyo (Downtown L.A.), Zendeko celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a two-hour concert dedicated to its ever supportive community.

02.1994
Zendeko performed at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California for the World Cup Soccer Closing Ceremonies, which also featured recording artists Whitney Houston and Kenny G.

Hiroko Seki transitions her role from member to Director of the ensemble.

08.1986
Formed under the direction of Reverend Nobuyoshi Fukushima of Zenshuji Soto Mission, Zendeko was founded initially as a Sunday school activity.  Shortly thereafter, the group trained and learned a new style of drumming under Za Ondekoza, an internationally acclaimed professional Taiko group from Japan, and their Director, Tagayasu Den.  Zendeko performed with Ondekoza on several occasions.
